Everything about Victor Matfield is gigantic. From his sheer 2.01m presence, to his 17 years as a professional rugby player, to his personality … everything. And why would we say this?
Because we saw him on the season 1 finale of The Dan Nicholl Show!
We were devastated when he retired from the Springboks after the 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) and didn’t think we were going to see much of him on the international playing field anymore, but he made a glorious comeback and will once again be playing for the Boks at the upcoming RWC in England. Here’s what he has to say about this:
Dan also reminded us that Victor is a man of many talents with this flashback to his very impressive six fours and two sixes during the Springboks’ match against the Proteas in the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup at Wanderers in 2014. Could it be that one of the best locks in the world also happens to be one of the best batsmen?
Season 1 of the Dan Nicholl Show wrapped with an extra special moment when Victor donated his headgear for display on BrightRock’s #LoveChange Showcase. Thanks for this, Victor, and we wish you all of the best at the RWC this year!
